I bought a pair of Magnum Delta side zip for general use 16 years ago. Think they were a predecessor to the Panther 8.0
Took them to Glastonbury for my 50th and despite the rain and the mud they held up a treat whilst everyone else was advocating wellies ( these so much more comfortable 😉👍❤️) . Taken them for treks over the moors , use them when gardening and decorating. Always there when that bit of additional consideration needed for the feet.
Never cleaned them or took any particular care of them.
Finally, this year, after 16 years of use, the soles came apart ( on both feet simultaneously weirdly enough ).
Just bought the Panther 8.0 sidezip from Vinted ( new with tags, less than half price ) because they are THAT good 😊👍
Imagine if I'd have taken care of them 😂❤️
🪖 From Africa to Scotland..The Boots Still March On 👢
Despite leaving the military, the boots never quite left me.
Back in 2021, during my tenure as a Contingent Commander in the Central African Republic, the Senegalese Special Forces operated under my area of responsibility. My contingent had the duty to ensure their sustenance and operational support. Before their rotation ended, their team leader presented me with a pair of combat boots as a token of camaraderie and respect.
Those boots have been with me ever since... through countless miles, shifts, rain, and the rugged Scottish weather. But the African leather, though strong, finally gave in to the cold Scottish climate. Cracks appeared beneath, and I knew it was time to retire a faithful old companion.
And thus enters the Magnum Panther 8.0 Side-Zip, a modern day workhorse... ❤️

Return to the older more neutral sole designs similar to the centurion model and previous panther SZ. In their current state, they are not fit for purpose.. and I will not be buying replacements from Magnum in the future unless the return to the better models of the past.
Despite some initial discomfort whilst breaking in my boots and some minor scuffing to the leather on the toes and heels, these boots are absolutely brilliant. The grip on the soles has well and truly been put to the test and so far proved to be excellent.
My feet have stayed relatively dry and warm, despite the ice and extreme rain recently.
Great boots! Especially in cold, icy weather! I’m a community nurse and occasionally have to take my shoes off in patients homes, the zip makes this process much easier! Good solid boots and comfortable for long shifts.
Love these boots. Quick and easy to take on and off with the zip (especially as I have to go through a scanner daily) only complaint I have is the logo on the Inside of the heel. As this is raised it is very noticeable under foot which I find annoying either walking about or sat at my desk. If this was maybe printed rather than a patch sewn in, it would be better in my opinion. Over all though I am very satisfied thank you.
Very comfortable boot and mine have lasted this time. However I agree the quality of these boots has gone down hill in the last few years. My only issue is walking around they are great but try and walk on a none slip surface the boots turn into an ice ring for some reason. So far from anti slip.
Do not drop three figures on these. Millets have them for £59 and that's about right. Got mine from them, fit nice and they are comfy, but I have never had toe leather split in under a year, at any price point. Like other reviews here and on Millets, no serious hard work from me on these, just walking round town going to Tesco. These clearly would not be fit for more strenuous purpose. Wanted to like them, and I was for a few months, but I thought I got a quality product at a low price. When actually it's a low quality product. Magnum clearly not now doing what the brand was built on. Looking for other boots before the one year anniversary of my purchase is not something I expected.
These are great boots. Had them for 1.5 years and been used pretty much everyday since I received them. They have kept my feet dry and warm (through minus temperatures). Used for standing 12+ hours a day and my feet have felt fine afterwards. Am about to buy my second pair.
Brought these boots as it says they are durable, and they really aren't my soles are coming away from the boot , my boots look tatty as there are peices where the black leather has come off, feel really bad as they are comfortable but I have only just owned them a year thinking that spending this amount of money on a paid of boots they would last.
Purchased these for outdoor work during the winter. Best decision I made as they are very comfortable and kept my feet warm. Love the zip as it allows me to lace them properly and then easily take them off and put back on. Had issues with previous boots from other companies, but these are very durable and very reliable. Definitely would recommend to anyone considering them.
I have been wearing Magnum boots for the past 15 years but in more recent years the quality has gone downhill in the last 12 months so I have purchased three pairs of boots but haven�t even lasted three months each but in previous years were wiring these boots for 2 to 3 years a pair
Ive bought these boots several times. the last pair lasted me about a year and a half through hard hiking and general walking. I've had similar timeframes from the other pairs I've bought. got my new pair in and theyre just as comfortable as theyve been before.

I spend a lot of time on my feet, most of it walking around, and I find these boots to be very comfortable and supportive all throughout my shift. I'm on my second pair now and the first pair are still in great condition with 5 years use I just made the mistake of using them for gardening/building work during the first lockdown
After the 1st month of wearing them, the leather started to peel off in the toe area. I don't know if the leather is real or not but I can tell you that if you are looking to use these boots regularly don't as your boots will end up ripped like mine. If you looking for a similar pair of boots with better quality get some altering defenders as they last you for years and they are reliable.
